Here’s what happened at the Eff Stop Conference 1.0 in March 2025

Eff Stop Photography Wed-ucation

The Conference 2.0 - Date TBC - Hitchin Priory

As someone who has attended approximately 30 Wedding Photography Conferences over my 10 years in the industry, it’s always struck me that only a minority of speakers have offered genuine Education in their talks. It’s inspiring to hear people’s stories and learn about their journeys in wedding photography, but with Eff Stop I wanted to do something a little different.

Our first Eff Stop Conference in March 2025 brought together 5 full time wedding photographers from across the British Isles, each with a very different style, and they presented for 50mins each on a section of the wedding day that they specialized in. At the end of the talks, we had an open floor Q&A session for an hour, and then enjoyed our social meet at a Granello Lounge in Hitchin into the evening.

I’m currently working to confirm our speakers for 2026 so follow us for updates on our Instagram account @effstopworkshops

Speakers for 2025 were:

Hannah MacGregor - Bride & Groom Prep / Hybrid Shooting @hannah.macgregor.photo.film

Katie Kavanagh - Ceremony & Family Group Shots @katiekavphoto

Tom Beynon - Drinks Reception Candids @tombeynonphotography

Daniel Ackerley - B&G Portraits @danielackerleyphoto

Rafe Abrook - Speeches & Dancefloor (inc Off Camera Flash) @rafeabrook

£149 per person. Please register interest at info@rafeabrook.co.uk or message 07535 265739

Speaker Highlights for the Eff Stop Conference 2025

I’ve come away from Rafe’s Workshop feeling inspired and confident to start experimenting with lighting both professionally and personally. He has shared his extensive knowledge of flash in a fun and informative way, within a small group setting where no question feels like a silly one!

Rafe’s engaging workshop covers all you need to know, including kit choices, lighting set ups and even real life models! This is followed up with a helpful PDF to reiterate what was covered in the class.

I’d most definitely say that this was money well spent. Thanks Rafe!

Morning Rafe, I just wanted to say a massive thank you for yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The information you shared was very helpful and I look forward to implementing it when I can. My feedback is 10/10 no thoughts on improvements as there are none that need to be made.
